Lighting Ideas?

Post by sjleeds »

Hey All,

Never did figure out an economical and nice looking way to light my village this year. I've posted some pictures of the supplies I'm going to order to make some custom light strings for next years village.

The idea is, going forward I will place the holes for the lights in the base of the house large enough for the C7 bulbs and notches in the sides and/or back of the base for the wires if needed. Holes in the train platform for the light stakes to hold the bulbs upright.

Anyone here have any experience with something close to this method and/or a better idea they'd like to share?

Now I make all my bases with holes in the bottom, but since I sell all my houses, I leave it big enough for an LED tea light so each individual can put the lights inside. The masters of Putzing who make villages will have more ideas.

Howard -

I sourced the materials on Amazon. The quantities they're sold in are probably overkill but the prices aren't too outrageous. Let me see how the links post up in here.

My brother uses those particular bulbs in window candles. They run nice and cool, the color is warm and not they're not overbearing in brightness.
