My February HOM

Post by Janet »

After some discussion with Tom, I decided to post this church for a HOM. At first glance this church looks rather bland but it has some architectural details that make it special.

The church is rather large being 7 1/2 by 4 3/4 and 6 1/2 to the top of the roof (steeple not included). The corrugated fence and its blue color have always been a favorite detail and it features square posts. Notice the corrugated trim on the church, steeple, and at the base of the structure. This ties this Japanese creation together.

Also, the windows on the bell tower (front and side) are repeated on the building in the exact size.

Tom asked about the white spots on the tower and it looks as if the stucco was never applied there. That really has never mattered to me as this was a my first larger piece that I acquired years ago and it has alway been special. These photos were taken with the morning sun shining on the village!

Janet, I love the church. Dumb question: Did it have windows? If so do you know what kind? Sorry, but I've been sort of neck-deep in windows this month. :-)

I love the corrugated trim on it also.

The windows are plain red cellophane.

Also, I did not give Tom enough credit for helping me with the details. Thank you Tom!
