good afternoon from a much colder north florida!...we're having a "Nor'easter"...a welcome change from the heat and humidity for us!...
here are a few of pix and some info on the entry sign i made for maria...
(by the way...if you don't subscribe to or follow maria's blog, you should...it's full of all things vintage...christmas and other seasonal decorations...interesting web sites...old photos...and much more...i look forward to each post from her...just click on the top right box on this page)...
the sign is just a base, two columns, a computer made sign on card stock with a gold foil tape border, two trees and a 1-inch tall pug dog figurine...
the dog was an eBay item…i searched "miniature dog figurines"...it came with a chrome painted finish which i covered with gray spray primer and painted with craft paint…

the columns are covered with some of paul’s free downloadable graphics…here’s a link…
http://www.bigindoortrains.com/indoor_r ... _stone.htm
each column has a square base and cap plus a finial…the finial was an unfinished wood shape from the craft store…
there are two wood strips that support and brace the sign between the columns...
all-in-all…a fun project…something i hope you’ll make for your village…
my very best regards…
howard

Re: Christmas village welcome sign...
Those pillars look real, its hard to tell they are printed graphics! It looks great Howard! Cool way to personalize!
