INTERESTING CHIMNEY TO MAKE WITH SANTA CLAUS

Post by maria »

I'd make the fireplace "light up": a vintage cardboard wind-up made in Japan chimney with Santa pop-up; definitely some crafting inspiration here if we can mimic the graphics on the lower part. (We've already got the basic brick pattern from BIGINDOORTRAINS - CLICK ON THE LINK http://tinyurl.com/39upo2j)
A great example of vintage Japanese Christmas kitsch with "putzabilities".

I love it Maria! I have several pics of vintage "santa chimneys" and would like to try my hand at building a putz version. :)

Maria, can you send me a hi-rez version of the fireplace photo, and measurements? I know someone who's good at reproducing this sort of thing.

Got it, thanks. What size across do you think the front of the fireplace should be. My friend can figure the rest out from there.

Has anyone made one of these? I love it, but I'm not sure where to begin on construction...
